3 Dead After Probox Bursts Into Flames in Embu

Three people lost their lives in Embu on Sunday after the vehicle they were travelling in burst into flames after crashing into a workshop.

The accident took place along the Mutunduri-Kiajokima Road when the Probox vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road and hit the roadside structure, immediately bursting into flames.

All three occupants of the vehicle are said to have succumbed at the scene and burnt beyond recognition.

The fire further spread to nearby structures after the workshop caught on fire.

Videos of the accident seen by Kenyans.co.ke show live images of the structures on fire as residents struggle to put it out.

Meanwhile, rescue personnel and police officers have already arrived at the scene and are combing through the debris to ensure no further victims are trapped.

This accident comes just a day after eight other Kenyans died in two separate accidents on Saturday, December 12.

In the Nukiat area along the Londiani-Muhoroni road, three people died while 44 others died when the bus they were travelling in lost control.

They were travelling from Mombasa to Busia when efforts by the driver to negotiate a bend failed and the bus overturned killing two adults and one child.

Earlier the night before, four people were reported dead after another road crash occurred in the Mutwot area along the Kapsabet-Eldoret Road.

10 others sustained critical injuries and were taken to the Mosoriot Health Center for specialised treatment while the deceased were transported to the Kapsabet Hospital Mortuary.

The accident, which involved a school bus happened when a speeding 14-seater matatu rammed into the school bus.7
