Family Reveals Last Moments Before Lover Stabbed Boyfriend 27 Times on His 27th Birthday

Fresh details have emerged on the last moments of the youth who died after being stabbed at least 27 times in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

Conrad Nyabuto was buried on Friday, December 27, in a somber ceremony in Kigoro village in Kisii, with some of his family members and friends speaking on his last days.

The key suspect in Nyabuto’s killing is a 24-year-old woman believed to have been the victim’s girlfriend at the time of his death on December 23, 2024.

One of Nyabuto’s family members revealed the 27-year-old was keen on ending the relationship in the days leading up to his brutal death.

“He had already told some of his friends who are ladies that he wanted to break up with the lady,” one relative recounted. “He said that the lady was a real pain in his life.”

Another relative recounted that Conrad, an ICT specialist, had gone to the lady’s house to end the relationship and an altercation ensued, resulting in his death.

Tragically, the victim, who is the last born in a family of three, was stabbed 27 times in the back on his birthday.

Relatives revealed Nyabutos’s body also had cuts on the chest and his throat was slit – a key indicator that his assailant committed a crime of passion.

A post-mortem conducted on the late Nyabuto’s body revealed he passed away from excessive bleeding after the stabbings.

The family further insists that no one should interfere with the case, and authorities should be allowed the space to conclude investigations.

Meanwhile, the key suspect in the murder, who also sustained stab wounds, is under 24-hour surveillance as she recuperates at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital.

The latest case of murder stemming from a love gone sour underlined the concerning rise in such cases, whose victims are mostly women.

Conrad’s case was eerily similar to another one which occurred in Trans-Nzoia County where a medical student was stabbed to death just days before his graduation.
