Otieno said the bursaries would benefit over 16,346 students in secondary and tertiary levels, with the minimum amount curbed at Sh5000 and 10 000 for secondary school and tertiary students respectively.
She noted that the application forms were available on Migori County’s website, ward administrative offices, and Members of the County Assembly offices.
The official added that the bursaries targeted total orphans, partial orphans and other needy students in the community in order to help them address school fees challenges.
She encouraged parents and the beneficiaries to fill and return the forms to ward administrators’ offices and fill out attendance forms for authenticity purposes.
Additionally, the official cautioned members of the public to beware of people demanding money before they are given application forms while others claimed to know certain people that would assist them to get the scholarship.
