The Justice Department on Monday released the report of David Weiss, the former special counsel investigating Hunter Biden.
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced in August 2023 WeissThe US attorney overseeing the Biden investigation was then appointed special counsel, giving him expanded powers to continue the investigation.
In submitting her report to Garland, Weiss said that she had prosecuted President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, in two cases, and she noted that Hunter Biden was convicted in both. In one, on a tax evasion count, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty on all counts, and in the other, on a felony charge related to possession of a revolver, he was convicted by a jury on all counts.
Weiss also noted that in December, President Biden pardoned his son “for all criminal offenses committed or committed over the past eleven years.”
