Embu National Super League side 3K FC has lost 2 points and 2 goals after being found guilty of acts of hooliganism and violence during their match with Kibera Black Stars FC on Sunday, January 12 at Embu Stadium.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) took the action against the team after fans invaded the pitch after the match and attacked match officials following their 1:0 loss to the visiting team alleging poor officiating.
“3 KFC has been found guilty of acts of hooliganism and shall be docked 2 points and 2 goals from those already accumulated, “read part of the letter from FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee.
The committee further resolved that the match results be upheld in a letter signed by Committee Chairman, Peter Kamau Chege.
The letter further stated that the issues raised by the club with regard to officiating will be forwarded to referees’ committee for review and action if any against the match officials.
The club was further held liable for the damage caused by their fans during the post-match fracas.
“3KFC is responsible for any repairs or costs upon submission of an independent damage assessment report to be submitted by the Embu Stadium Management,” the letter stated.
The team currently stands at position nine with 21 points having won five matches, drawn six and lost four out of 15 matches played so far behind league leaders APS Bomet with 29 points.
3KFC was promoted to NSL in May last year after emerging victorious in Division One Zone A League.
