Kilgoris NGCDF Office has commissioned 13 development projects in Trans Mara West Sub County.
During a commissioning tour of the projects, area Member of Parliament, Julius Sunkuli, emphasized that these projects are a direct result of public participation, where community members voiced their priorities.
“What we have achieved through these projects is the result of discussions with the community about the developments they need,” said Sunkuli.
Sunkuli also expressed his commitment to improving the region’s schools, acknowledging that many schools still operate with semi-permanent classrooms built of mud and iron sheets.
“Our goal is to transform the learning environment here by constructing new classrooms and enhancing existing ones, ensuring that students have a better place to study,” he added.
The NG-CDF’s focus on education infrastructure is evident in the newly built classrooms across several schools, including two in each of Inkoirienito and Ilkujuka Primary schools, as well as Enchurai, Enoosaen and Endonyo Narok comprehensive Schools.
Additionally, three classrooms were constructed at Tororek primary school and Kiikat Comprehensive Schools received full renovations.
Sunkuli also highlighted the importance of improving local governance with the construction of new administration offices, such as those for chiefs and assistant chiefs.
“These offices will not only make services more accessible to the community but also enhance security in the region,” said Sunkuli.
Joseph Koini, the BOM chair at Enchurai Primary School, praised MP Sunkuli for his efforts in prioritizing educational infrastructure, noting that the NG-CDF has alleviated the financial burden on parents.
“Previously, schools had to rely on fundraising to build and renovate classrooms. Now, the NG-CDF has lightened that load,” Koini remarked.
Joshua Kilerai, a parent, shared his excitement over the newly built classrooms, which replaced the old iron sheet structures.”The new permanent buildings are a welcome change for our children,” Kilerai said.
