Kimani Ichungwah, 3 Other UDA Leaders Demand CS Justin Muturi's Resignation

United Democratic Alliance(UDA) party members and Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale urged his Public Service counterpart Justin Muturi on Sunday to resign following his latest criticisms of the government regarding abductions.

While touring the North Eastern region over the weekend, Duale criticised CS Muturi for his remarks on the government and asked him to step aside.

He further called on Muturi to cease his persistent criticism, describing his comments as inappropriate and detrimental.

”I want to ask our colleagues and we must respect. If you are privileged and you are unhappy and you are a Cabinet Secretary, the best thing for you is to resign,” Duale stated.

”For you to engage in a very unhealthy and inappropriate altercation with your appointing authority who is the President, then it is not very fair,” he added.

Speaking in Mandera, Senate Leader of Majority Aaron Cheruyiot also criticised Muturi’s remarks noting that the former Attorney General appeared tribal in his latest onslaught on the government.

”I want to tell those leaders that they will be defeated because people are knowledgeable in Kenya. People want a government that serves all the people with fairness and equality,” Cheruyiot maintained.

His National Assembly counterpart Kimani Ichung’wah also waded into the matter while speaking at Muturi’s home turf of Embu.

According to Ichung’wah, it was wrong for Muturi to continue his attacks on the government, asking him to give Kenyans a break.

”Those who pontificate and attempt to lecture the President, the Deputy President, and other leaders on how well they know and polished, please give us a break,” Ichung’wah echoed.

According to Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek, the problem of abductions began when Muturi was serving as the Speaker and he did little to stop the menace.

Their calls come after the CS emerged as the sole opposing voice in the Cabinet over the increasing cases of abductions and forced disappearance.

On Friday the former AG sustained his criticism over the instances of abductions, following the discovery of the bodies of the two of the missing Kitengela four brothers.
