Original digitone One of my favorite sintos is. For some people who may come as a backhand praise because, okay, digitone is not just a synthesis. It is a powerful multitimral groovex with one of the most versatile sequences on the market. For me, its four tracks and eight sounds of polyphony may feel a bit limited. Apart from this, it is not the best in the drum. This inspired me to paste the digitone on a stand, where I just treat it like a midi keyboard controlled desktop synt.
Digitone II, at least on paper, seems to solve some of these problems. It now has 16 sounds on 16 tracks, as well as three completely new synthes engines that expand its sound palette, with a completely dedicated to a completely collision. It is all in addition to the same type of sequencing, modulation, and filter reforms that we already saw on Digitak II (8/10, wired recommendation), But like its samples-based siblings, Digitone II has received a significant price increase for $ 999. The market now used with the original to go for low as $ 350, the choice between the two is not necessarily cut and dry.
This is new sound
Prior to none of the nervousness, the four-operator FM engine from the original digitone is still here. While I have seen that some people have suggested that it is not at all and there is a little more patience and character in the original, I think they are having hallucinations. I have loaded many presets designed for the original digitone on Digitone II, and I cannot tell the difference between them. It is worth noting that, sadly you cannot load the Digitone II preset on the original digitone, even if they are using the original FM sound engine. There are some technical differences between them under the hood clearly, but at least for my ears, they do not affect the sound.
There are other three synthesis engines where Digitone II actually distinguishes itself from the origin. In addition to the original FM engine (called FM tone in the new model), the FM is a drum, which twists the original sound engine for a better suit collision. Warvatone is slightly less glassy and you get the same sound on the phase deformation and westible synthes. It is still digital, but not as rigid as FM. Then there is a herd, which gives you super-roped sounds which are great for leads and organs by stacking six different oscillator at the top of the main one. Many of my favorite new preset weavetone machines are used excellent, which is capable of clearly repeating classic electro and crafts sounds.
