The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, February 14, arrested three men in connection to a multi-million shilling warehouse heist worth over Ksh23.8 million.

Through a statement, DCI confirmed the apprehension of the notorious thieves who have wreaked havoc with a series of warehouse break-ins, bringing immense losses to the affected parties.

“Detectives from DCI Nairobi Region have successfully apprehended three individuals linked to a series of warehouse break-ins and stealing in Nairobi and its environs,” DCI stated.

“In one notable incident, the suspects broke into a warehouse and made off with goods worth Ksh23.8 million,” the investigative body added.

The arrest of the three men came after the filing of a complaint at the Industrial Area police station. Initially, the detectives arrested two of the suspects before later nabbing the third one after a tip-off.

Grilling and interrogation by the detectives led to DCI being led to the thieves’ storage area where goods such as television sets and seat upholstery material, worth millions of shillings, were discovered.

“Upon interrogation, the duo led the detectives to a storage facility in Ruiru. There, investigators recovered 80 Samsung 43-inch television sets,” DCI informed.

While arresting the third suspect, the detectives got a huge windfall, discovering ten solar panels and a lorry full of seat material.

“A subsequent search of his home uncovered ten solar panels. The suspect further led authorities to the Industrial Area, where a lorry was intercepted. The vehicle was found loaded with 233 rolls of seat material, believed to be part of the stolen haul,” the sleuths expressed.

The suspects are being held in police custody as the detectives launch investigations surrounding the matter.

“All three suspects are in police custody, undergoing processing as they await their day in court,” DCI stated.

The arrest of the three individuals came a day after DCI announced the arrest of four individuals, including two foreigners, in Mombasa while issuing PhD degrees after only three days of training.
