The same can be said about laptops also. As its battery gets older, the need to use the power plug more frequently will also increase. Most of the electronics devices we use come with Lithium Ion and Lithium Poly batteries. These are equipped with quick charge feature but it is not necessary that you get long battery life. Keeping in mind the age of the battery, it is better to replace the battery than upgrading the laptop.
Whether you use a smartphone, tablet or laptop. These tips will help in increasing the battery life of your device.
1) Keep an eye on the temperature
Using the battery at high temperatures can be even more frustrating than cycling it. Battery University It is said that high temperature and increasing age gradually reduce the performance of the battery. Using the device in lower temperatures (above 30 degrees Celsius is considered extreme) will improve its life cycle. Testing has found that when the battery is used for three months in a temperature of 60 degrees, the performance reaches 60 percent and in a temperature of 40 degrees it reaches 65 percent. Try to protect your device from heat, for example, do not make the mistake of leaving your mobile on the dashboard of the car in the scorching heat.
It is natural to be worried about the problem of overheating of the smartphone, because with the passage of time the battery life becomes very weak. Keep in mind that you are using a cooling pad in the laptop, so that the hot air can easily escape from the CPU vent. Due to dust, the vent of the laptop often starts getting clogged due to which the fans built in it have to work more, gradually this also increases the expenses for you. Therefore, keep it clean, especially remove dust.

2) Avoid free apps, start buying apps
Apps that come with ads can reduce your device's battery life by an average of 2.5 to 2.1 hours. It is claimed that some American researchers Has been done by. According to the study, the phone's processor is like its brain. Advertisement also uses some parts of this brain due to which it slows down.
It is not that all free apps are affecting your battery, but if you see any advertisement on it then understand that it will affect the bandwidth and processor. You will get many benefits by paying for apps. That too when today many apps are available for just Rs 10.
To edit text on a laptop, it would be better to use the applications available in the system. Doing this will consume much less battery than using the browser. If you are not using the internet then turn off the Wi-Fi connection. On Windows PC you just need to press “Fn+F2” on the keyboard. By the way, this command also depends on the device manufacturer. In such a situation, you can also use the Wi-Fi icon built on the device.
3) Turn off location tracking
A recent report has claimed that the Facebook app drains the iPhone's battery quickly because it keeps knowing the user's location by repeatedly using the GPS module. In such a situation, turning off the location tracking of those apps which do not need your location will definitely help.
On most Android devices, you can turn off location tracking completely by going to Settings then Location. By the way, the option to decide this at the app level is currently given only in Android Marshmallow.
In iOS 9, you go to Settings, then Privacy, and then Location Services. After this you can disable it according to each app. Keep location access on only for apps that need it.
4) It is better to charge little by little than to charge completely.
An excellent suggestion given by Battery University can be understood with the example of a marathon. It is better to let the battery discharge to 50 percent rather than taking it straight from 100 percent to zero. Maintain a range between 30 to 80 percent. By doing this the discharge cycle of your battery will increase three times.
Lenovo uses this principle in its battery maintenance settings. You can also customize it according to your needs. To ensure long-term use of the battery, Lenovo recommends that you set a charging pattern that starts at 40 percent and stops at 50 percent.
5) Decrease display brightness
This tip applies to laptops and mobile devices. You can easily use the brightness settings on most devices or reduce the screen brightness through third-party apps like Lux. Apart from reducing the brightness of the display, it also changes the color cast of the screen. However, power can be saved on OLED screens only through a software layer, whereas in LCD this requires reducing the backlight brightness.
You can also save some battery by reducing how long your display stays on when the device is inactive. On Android, you can decide this by going to Settings then Display. In iOS, by going to Settings, General, then Auto-Lock, you can change the setting as per your convenience.
In Windows laptops, right-click the battery icon, then Power Options. After this change the setting to power saver. Windows will then automatically reduce the brightness. Apart from this, standby and other settings will be given priority according to the battery performance.
6) Update apps over Wi-Fi or while battery charging
In general, any action that puts pressure on the processor or bandwidth will consume more CPU power. It would be best if this action is generally stable and uses Wi-Fi instead of mobile data internet. In such a situation, the best decision would be to schedule your app updates only on Wi-Fi. If your device has the option, you can schedule it only while it's charging.
You can access this setting in the Play Store app on Android. Launch the app. Open the menu by swiping from the left side of the screen. After this go to Settings, then Auto-update apps. After this select Wi-Fi only mode. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi + Cellular, then iTunes & App Store. After this turn off the use cellular data.
7) Turn on Low Power Mode
Battery saver mode is not present in all Android phones. If you are using Android 5.0 or later, then this mode is more likely to be present on your device. As soon as your phone's battery reaches 15 percent, it automatically becomes active. It turns off background app refresh, location tracking, and sync activity to save battery life. Android Marshmallow comes with Doze feature. If you do not use your phone for a long time then this feature sends your phone into deep slow mode. Due to this feature the standby time is doubled. If you are using an old version Android phone then you will not get this feature.
iPhones equipped with iOS 9 also have a Low Power Mode that turns off background refresh, visual effects, and automatic downloads. You can access this feature by going to Battery options from Settings.
If you are using an old Android phone, then it is possible that the manufacturer has given its low power mode on your phone. For example, on Sony phones it is known as Stamina Mode and on HTC as Extreme Power Mode. By the way, you can also use many third-party apps. However, our experience shows that built-in apps are more effective.
8) Use flight mode
If your phone is not near a cellular tower, it will also affect the standby time. If you are in a place where there is no network then it would be better to activate airplane mode (flight mode) in the phone. Your phone will repeatedly search for networks in such places which will affect the battery life.
By following these suggestions, you will find that your phone is giving better battery life than before. If you have any suggestions to improve battery life then let us know through the comment box.
