Githunguri Member of Parliament (MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba on Saturday was feted with two awards at the Jamhuri 2024 Awards in Nairobi.
The lawmaker bagged one award under the best MP in Kenya category and the second one as the best MP in Kiambu County where her constituency is domiciled.
Taking to her X handle, Wamuchomba showcased the awards expressing gratitude to her supporters for standing with her.
“Elated to receive two awards during the Jamhuri Awards last evening: The best MP in Kenya and best in Kiambu County. A win for me is a Win for all who follow and support me,” she shared full of excitement.

Since her election to Parliament in 2022, she has been recognised for her dynamic approach to leadership and advocacy on social issues especially gender-based violence (GBV) issues.
Wamuchomba, who was the woman representative of Kiambu Women between 2017 and 2022 has emerged as a formidable voice of dissent within Kenya’s ruling UDA party, fearlessly calling out the government when it errs.
