your baby's basket Or the crib not only affects their sleep, but also affects your sleep. I'm a new mom, my little one was born at the end of September, and we've been using Cradlewise's smart bassinet consistently for the past month. While this isn't a foolproof way to get your baby to sleep (is any crib foolproof?), it has helped reduce the need for intervention. Less interference means more sleep for both me and my baby, so I'm a fan of the Cradlewise.
CradleWise has all the gadgets built-in: a baby monitorA sound equipmentAnd even a bouncing motion to soothe the baby. The latter two are completely customizable from the Cradlewise app. But it's not just gadget-packed – the app has AI that will use the camera and microphone to track and classify baby's sleep, and respond when baby is disturbed.
Cradlewise has worked to help get my baby to sleep, sometimes even responding to sleep before I do. During his most recent nap, I watched him through the app as he bobbed in and out and eventually calmed down from the bouncing of the crib and went back to sleep. During that time I was able to write this review. I am sold.
baby's first ai
Cradlewise's AI is designed to learn your baby's sleep habits so it can respond appropriately. Considering I'm in the thick of a newborn fog, I would happily welcome anything to help with sleep at this stage. The crib monitor, built into the arch hanging above the crib, uses 3D-image mapping technology to detect baby's sleep state by quiet, active or crying. The AI interprets and categorizes this information so that the baby can respond by bouncing, kicking the sound machine, or both. The more the built-in AI is able to understand and predict your baby's sleep habits, the more it can take a preventative approach to your baby's fuss and frolic.
I was hesitant to trust AI with my baby's sleep, but Cradlewise is designed to respond in a similar way to parents when their baby makes a fuss. It will start soothing with gentle bouncing motions and the sound machine will start. If your baby is still resisting sleep, he will respond by increasing the bouncing speed and sound volume. When the crib detects that your baby has calmed down to go back to sleep, all functions stop. If the baby cannot be calmed by these actions, it will send an alert through the app.

Through the app, you have complete control over everything from the intensity of the bouncing motions to the volume of the sound machine. Neither of these are fixed, so your baby is less likely to be dependent on one to fall asleep. I'm using the high sensitivity setting so that the bassinet responds almost immediately to my baby's movements or sounds. When he stirs, I wait to see if Cradlewise can soothe him back to sleep. About half the time, it will. The downside is that sometimes the bassinet increases the bouncing speed too quickly, from light bouncing to level three or four (level four is the highest bouncing intensity), which is often too aggressive and even hard to put my baby to sleep. That also seems counterintuitive. When this happens, I reduce the intensity myself. Hopefully this is a pattern that AI will eventually adopt and readjust, but that has not happened yet.
