The perpetrator is currently being held at the Narok Police Station awaiting arraignment on Monday, December 23.

Investigations are still ongoing on what triggered the deadly attack.

The death has dampened the holiday spirit, though it is not uncharacteristic of the season, where fatalities are reported almost daily.

In a similar case, seven people were arrested in connection with the murder of a fourth-year student at Tom Mboya University inside a restaurant in Homa Bay.

The victim is said to have been tortured before he was killed as he was found bound with ropes on the hands and legs with multiple head injuries alluding to having received a beating.

He was found after police raided the restaurant following an alert about the incident from a Homa Bay County Enforcement Officer who informed the police about the torture of the student at the joint.

Although he was alive at the time of his discovery, he succumbed on arrival at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital.

His body has since been taken to the hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem as police officers proceed with investigations.
