Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua on Monday, December 23, spoke on the possibility of working with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Karua stated that she was open to working with the former DP as there was no bad blood between them.
“I can not rule out working with anybody. He is not my enemy. Kenya has one common enemy called William Ruto and his regime,” she stated.
However, she clarified that the two had not sat down to strategise as Gachagua had yet to seek her out, saying, “I have not talked to him and he has not sought me out.”

“The fact that I have not sat down with him does not make him my enemy. He might have done things that irritated or annoyed me but that’s fine. People can always fix the broken but at the moment we are not talking. He is operating in his sphere and I’m in mine,” she added.
Stressing that she could still work with someone she does not agree with politically, she cited recent decisions made by Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta, which she disagreed with, yet they remained her brothers.
“We also have brothers with whom we have differed politically like Raila and even Uhuru’s latest move. That’s a political difference but they remain my brothers and friends,” she stated.
She added that she remained close friends with the former President despite his decision to work with President Ruto.
Since his impeachment in October, Gachagua has actively worked to rally support from the region.
This move has fuelled political speculation that he is preparing to join an opposition coalition ahead of the highly anticipated 2027 general elections.
With several opposition leaders, including Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, hinting at the possibility of a grand coalition, many are eagerly awaiting confirmation on whether Gachagua will officially join the alliance.
