The Rev. Canon Jonathan Kabiru was on Saturday, January 18, elected the Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), Nairobi Diocese.
Canon Kabiru was elected after 23 delegates converged at ACK St. Stephen’s Cathedral on Jogoo Road to elect the bishop of the Nairobi Diocese.
Kabiru’s election marks a significant moment in the history of the Nairobi Diocese as he becomes its third bishop. Prior to his election, he served as an archdeacon of ACK.
The head of the Diocese of Nairobi in the ACK holds a significant position with various responsibilities that are essential for the spiritual and administrative leadership of the diocese.

The position fell vacant following the retirement of Bishop Joel Waweru, who was the second Bishop of the Diocese.
