President Biden praised the deceased on Sunday evening President Jimmy Carter Hours after the announcement of Carter's death at the age of 100, he was cited in brief comments as an example of “simple decency”.

The President said of Carter that he “lived a life that is measured not by words, but by deeds.”

Mr Biden, who is vacationing in St. Croix, told reporters that what Carter represented was “…an example of simple decency.” The President recalled that he was the first sitting senator to endorse Carter when he ran for president in 1976. He said, “I told him why I was endorsing – that it was not just his policies, but his character, his decency, the respect he exudes.”

Carter, the 39th president and the longest-serving president in American history, died surrounded by family at his home in Plains, Georgia, the Carter Center said in a statement.

Carter's son, Chip Carter, called his father “a hero not just to me, but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights and selfless love”, and he thanked people around the world for “his memory. “Continued to keep him alive to honor him.” “Shared beliefs.”

Mr Biden and first lady Jill Biden, who are currently vacationing with their family in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, issued a statement earlier grief of loss as “an extraordinary leader, statesman and humanitarian”, and he praised Carter's work after his presidency “Ending disease, building peace, advancing civil rights and human rights, promoting free and fair elections, housing the homeless, and always advocating for the least among us.”
