One year after becoming a comedian jimmy kimmel For hosting his own big show, the Academy Award will be handed to another familiar TV funnyman – Conan O'Brien,
“America asked for it and now it's happening: Taco Bell's new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I'm hosting the Oscars,” O'Brien said in a statement Friday.
This will be his first time as an Oscar host, but he has attended other high-profile awards shows such as the Emmy Awards in 2002 and 2006 and the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 1995 and 2013.
The Oscars will air live on ABC on March 2, 2025.

O'Brien is best known for hosting the late-night talk shows “Late Night with Conan O'Brien,” “The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien” and “Conan.” Prior to his TV hosting career, O'Brien was a writer for “Saturday Night Live” and “The Simpsons.”
O'Brien joins a list of Oscar hosts that includes Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, David Letterman, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris.
Craig Ervich, president of Disney Television Group, said, “He joins a distinguished list of comedy greats who have served in this role, and we are very fortunate to have him at the center of the Oscars.”
O'Brien served as a late-night host for nearly three decades. In 2015, following David Letterman's retirement, he became the “longest-serving late-night talk show host” in America. according to tbs,
TBS said Starr worked as a writer and producer on several TV shows, including “Saturday Night Live,” before becoming host of “Late Night” on NBC in 1993. He famously left the network In January 2010 after a short stint as host of “The Tonight Show”. His TBS debut began in 2010.
