Four Cabinet Secretaries, including Defence Minister Soipan Tuya, have announced appointments to their ministries as part of the radical changes to enhance government operations.
According to a gazette notice dated Friday, February 7, CS Tuya announced the appointment of Brigadiers Jeremiah Maroko and Kioko Mwololo to be members of the Kenya Defence Forces Pension Assessment Committee.
The main role of the pension assessment committee is to ensure that the pension scheme for the KDF officers is effectively and efficiently managed.
The duo was appointed alongside Colonel Symon Yator, Robert Maweu Mutula, and Patricia Njau to be members of the committee for three years effective February 7.

Similarly, Labour CS Alfred Mutua appointed Joel Chebii to be a member of the National Industrial Training Board for three years, with effect from February 7, this year.
Under the Ministry of Water and Sanitation, CS Eric Muuga appointed Hannah Nyambura Ndungu to be the Chairperson, while John Kariuki was appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Ministerial Audit Committee, for three years.
While the two were appointed to lead the committee, Patrick Mutisya Mbithi, Dorothy Chepngetich, Ololchike Spenser Sankale, and Timothy Munyole were appointed as members.
On the same note, CS Muuga appointed Jael Jepchumba and Samuel Gitonga to be members of the Hydrologists Registration Board from February 7, 2025.
Lands CS Alice Wahome appointed Daniel Maina Mukiri and David Nyangau Siriba to be the members of the Land Surveyors’ Board for the next two years.
She also appointed Kombo Mwero, Christopher Kinyua Tiras, Erastus Chege Mwangi, and Fredrick Ouma Oduor to be members of the same board effective yesterday.
Meanwhile, Tuya’s latest appointments come a week after she appointed five military officers to the KDF Pensions Appeals Committee. The appointments made on January 31 included colonels Lewis Muluvi, Muthomi Nchuurai, and Symon Yator.
Last week, CS Mutua also made four notable appointments. He appointed Wesley Siele, Rachel Monyoncho, Francis Wangara, and Carolyn Chepkoech Rutto to be members of the National Industrial Training Authority Board for three years.
