The Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) of Nyakach Sub-County, Kisumu County, Job Barongo Anunda, has unveiled a list of 108 young men believed to have been behind a series of livestock theft and related criminal activities in the region.

In a public notice, Anunda disclosed that the identified individuals are regarded as persons of interest after they had been prominently implicated in the ongoing police investigations.

He advised the named individuals to report to the DCI Nyakach Sub-County within seven days to clear their names as part of the ongoing probe.

“The under listed are people of interest in the ongoing investigations. This office advises that they report to the DCI Nyakach to clear their names within seven (7) days from the date of this notice,” the statement read in part.

Additionally, detectives have mapped out the residences of the suspects, which include Sondu, Oboch, Sigoti, and Koguta locations. Others are from South, South West, South East Nyakach, and Jimo East locations within Nyakach Sub-County.

Authorities in the region are calling on the general public to cooperate with law enforcement to aid the ongoing investigations.

This comes in the wake of an in-depth investigation by authorities into the incessant cattle rustling especially along the Sondu-Kericho border, which have resulted in the loss of innocent lives and significant destruction of property.
