The Mic 2 supports internal recording, meaning it can save your audio directly to the transmitter's internal storage as a backup, but this is not supported on the Mic Mini. Also, Mic 2 is capable 32-bit float internal recordingWhich gives you more space while editing. Basically, if something goes wrong with the audio you have more information to work with. This mic is also not supported on the Mini. The mic doesn't support mini lavalier microphones (no wires here!), and there's no touchscreen display for the interface. (There Is A dial just like on Mic 2 to adjust gain.)

But the Mic Mini has a few tricks up its sleeve. It supports automatic thresholding to prevent audio clipping, which means it will reduce the signal volume if you are getting close to those limits. To test this, I deliberately increased the maximum gain on the receiver and talked loudly into both Mic 2 and Mic Mini. The latter sounded fine, but Mic 2's audio was distorted and clipped in some places. Wow!

Plus, in general, you'll get much better battery life with the Mic Mini. Despite its smaller size, the lack of internal recording enables it to last up to 48 hours, while the Mic 2 is limited to 18 hours.

As far as microphone quality is concerned, I found it to be largely similar to the Mic 2, except for a minor difference in noise cancellation. Watch my video above to see how its performance compares to the built-in mic on the iPhone 16 Pro – the amount of ambient sound these mics eliminate never ceases to impress me.

Overall, the Mic Mini is a simple, affordable, and effective wireless microphone system, and I think it's suitable for most people who are starting out and upgrading from their phone's built-in audio (or mic). on earpodsKeep in mind that you Too DJI Mic 2 can be purchased in parts—The transmitter alone costs $99And there are reasons why you might want it over the Mini. But although it may be hard to find the perfect fit due to its small size, the Mike Mini is much more thoughtful and cool to put on a shirt, and that makes me want to use it even more.
