“Latiff is a highly regarded and accomplished media personality, renowned for his creativity, passion, and stellar track record across TV, Radio, and Digital platforms. With over 27 years of experience in the media industry, Latiff brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for developing new media,” the statement added.

“I am confident that his inclusion will bring much-needed impact in the fast-changing media landscape,” Dajom affirmed.

Earlier during the day, Latiff took to his X account revealing his exit from Standard Group where he was one of the founders of Spice FM’s The Situation Room. The seasoned journalist served as a host of the show for five years.

In a heartfelt message, Latiff bid goodbye to the show that he hosted together with CT Muga, Ndu Okoh, and Njeri Thorne acknowledging the growth and impact the show has had on Kenyans.

“It has been a great journey building The Situation Room to what it has become and we have very many people to thank, not least the team of producers, marketing, commercial, technical and other colleagues,” Latiff stated.

The Situation Room has become the home of Kenya’s Biggest Conversations and it continues to host many thought leaders, community influencers, different professionals and duty bearers,” he added.

Aside from Spice FM, Latiff also anchored news on KTN. The journalist also worked for other media houses spearheading the launch of Kenya’s first vernacular station, Kameme FM and K24.

However, Latiff had seemingly hinted at landing a new job in his message and promised to keep his followers updated.

“Is there room for something new? Of course, always, and I sure hope to be a part of it soon. Wish me luck, I will keep you posted,” he concluded.
