Property of unknown value went up in flames after an inferno erupted on the top floor of a 4-storey building along the Rongai-Kiserian Road at the junction of Gataka Road in Nairobi.
The tragic incident happened on the evening of Sunday, December 8, at around 4 pm with the cause of the fire yet to be established.
Videos from the incident showed a cloud of thick black smoke rising from the top floor of the building as the fire razed it down
The blaze engulfed a section of the top floor, with some of the smoke escaping through the balcony of the floor and a fire consuming its wooden components.

Concerned members of the public gathered helplessly and they watched the fire raging through the structure.
The number of casualties, if any, was yet to be established as relevant authorities had not issued any statement by the time of publishing this story.
Likewise, Nairobi County’s fire emergency unit was yet to arrive at the scene to put out the inferno.
The most recent fire in Nairobi, however, was on November 30, when Ngara Market went up in flames on Friday night.
Recent months have seen Nairobi plagued by a series of fire incidents with this latest outbreak adding to the growing concern.
The fire along Rongai-Kiserian Road comes barely a month after another fire in Nairobi left at least six people dead and 16 others with injuries in the Majengo area of Kamukunji.
The fire is alleged to have erupted at around 8.30 pm which left saw 50 houses burnt forcing the affected families to spend the night out in the cold.
Nairobi County’s Governor, Johnson Sakaja recently inspected fire damage at a trading area on Desai Road, Ngara, on September 2, where numerous traders lost their livelihoods. The governor pledged to strengthen the city’s fire emergency response unit.
