Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced plans to meet all Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Coalition officials, including members from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Jubilee parties.
The meeting follows a High Court decision yesterday that declared the Azimio coalition as the majority coalition in the National Assembly.
A three-judge bench comprising Justices John Chigiti, Jairus Ngaah, and Lawrence Mugambi dismissed Speaker Moses Wetang’ula’s decision that declared Kenya Kwanza as the majority coalition, terming his pronouncement as a breach of the Constitution.
In the landmark ruling, the court stated that Wetang’ula acted unreasonably when he declared 14 members of the Azimio coalition as new members of Kenya Kwanza.

Meanwhile, speaking at a funeral service in Kitui County on Saturday afternoon, Kalonzo revealed that yesterday he made a phone call to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss the way forward.
The Azimio Principal, while addressing the mourners, disclosed that he called the two leaders to discuss the forthcoming meeting scheduled for Wednesday, during which the coalition principals will decide what to do.
Kalonzo disclosed that the meeting will involve meeting all the parliamentarians registered under the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition to restructure roles as per the court ruling.
“The situation is that Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya is the majority party. I have spoken to Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta. On Wednesday we want a Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting after you have met on Tuesday so that we can organise ourselves,” Kalonzo stated.
While taking a swipe at President William Ruto’s administration, Kalonzo noted that the High Court ruling yesterday was a huge embarrassment to most Kenya Kwanza coalition politicians.
According to the former vice president, the court’s ruling was also punishment for most former Azimio politicians who quit the coalition due to their lack of faith and belief in the political outfit.
“Those who were praising Ruto, I know you ate feeling awkward; you could have been patient and waited. These friends who ran to join Ruto, I suggest they do introspection,” the Wiper party leader said.
Kalonzo further hit out at four ODM politicians, now Cabinet Secretaries John Mbadi, Opiyo Wandayi, Hassan Joho, and Wycliffe Oparanya, who joined Ruto’s broad-based cabinet in August in the aftermath of the anti-youth protests.
In particular, the Wiper Party leader took a dig at Energy and Petroleum CS Opiyo Wandayi, whom he claimed could be possibly facing an embarrassing moment following the court ruling.
