The Kenol Law Courts marked the Judiciary Dialogue Day, which attracted attendance from key stakeholders in the judicial system, including judges, police, prisons, the Law Society of Kenya, the ODPP, the OAG, court users, and the public.
The Kenol Court Head Senior Resident Magistrate Sheila Nyaga observed that the event was meant to offer members of the public an opportunity to better understand the judicial services and processes.
“We have been able to interact with the public, the staff, the court users’ committee, and the bar where issues that are ailing the society pertaining to the judicial processes have been raised and will be resolved,” she noted.
One of the attendees, Peter Mwangi, a boda boda rider, observed that through the dialogue day, he had been enlightened on judicial processes and had a better understanding of what happens when one is taken to court.
“I have interacted with the police today, and henceforth I will seek to abide by the law because I have realised that they are also understanding and will not arrest you if you are not in any conflict with the law,” he said.
