Leaders in Kiambu County have unveiled a two-year development agenda aimed at reviving stalled projects and accelerating infrastructure development.
The leaders met with Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki at his Karen residence to discuss the county’s priority projects and ensure their successful implementation.
During the meeting, the government reaffirmed its commitment to completing all ongoing development initiatives under the Development Agenda plan, which will run until 2027. This initiative aligns with the administration’s pledge to fulfil campaign promises and drive economic growth in the region.
Deputy President Kindiki emphasized Kiambu County’s strategic role in President William Ruto’s re-election success and assured residents of continued government support for development projects. He also announced that county leaders will hold an annual consultation forum to evaluate progress.
“Every year, we will convene to assess our progress in the county. These annual forums will be preceded by quarterly development reviews between me and the leaders to ensure a clear direction,” Kindiki stated.
The Deputy President further assured leaders that all stalled road projects would resume, as sufficient funds have been allocated for road infrastructure and electricity connections.
Acknowledging the challenges of implementing government reforms, Kindiki noted that progress often faces resistance and requires sacrifices. However, he reassured citizens that the Kenya Kwanza Administration remains committed to fulfilling its pledges within the five-year tenure.
“This government will go out of its way to fulfil as many commitments as possible. We will not leave anything unfinished,” he affirmed.
Kindiki also highlighted his close collaboration with President William Samoei Ruto, stating that the President was fully informed about the forum and would receive an update on the discussions.
Distinguishing between politics and leadership, Kindiki reiterated that President Ruto’s focus is on sustainable economic transformation rather than short-term political gains.
He further pledged that the Kenya Kwanza Administration will fully support Kiambu leaders in driving meaningful development across the county.
“The Kenya Kwanza Administration envisions transforming Kiambu County and will provide full support to its people to ensure development across all sectors,” he stated.
