The Kenya National Examination Council has cautioned Kenyans against fraudsters claiming to change the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KEPSEA) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
In a brief statement on Wednesday, January 8, the examination council flagged a telegram account reportedly operated by conmen who purport to have the ability to change the examination results.
The fraudsters alleged to have the council’s permission to access each student’s KPSEA and KCSE results which they claimed gave them the authority to make the changes.
In the guise of changing a student’s results, the extortionists first demanded a significant amount of money in the form of a bribe from the unsuspecting victims.

“If you want or are interested in grade changes and have the required amount make sure we work out at sunrise before the day ends,” alleged the conmen.
“Results are ready pending release. Don’t panic you will reap what you planted, unless you work with us and expect the Best. Grade changing is instant now.”
While clarifying the matter, KNEC termed the telegram group as fake adding that such social media accounts were only meant to scam unsuspecting Kenyans.
KNEC’s warning notice followed hours after it officially released the KPSEA examination results with students urged to access their results through the Competency-Based Assessment portal.
In a statement on Tuesday, January 7, schools that presented candidates for the assessment were advised to log into the portal and access the learner-specific reports.
“Update! The 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) reports are ready and have been uploaded on the CBA portal, http://cba.knec.ac.ke. Congratulations to all the 2024 KPSEA candidates,” KNEC announced.
Parents and students facing difficulties in accessing results were urged to contact their respective schools where they registered for the assessment.
Meanwhile, KNEC’s decision to release the KPSEA results comes amidst public concerns over the delays in releasing the KCSE exam results.
