KNEC Directs Schools to Obtain KCSE 2024 Results From Education Directors

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) on Thursday confirmed that it had dispatched all examination results printouts to Sub-County directors of education countrywide.

In a statement released on January 16, KNEC advised schools to obtain the documents at their respective offices.

“The 2024 KCSE examination results printouts have been dispatched to all Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDES) offices countrywide,” the statement read.

“Schools that presented candidates for the examination are advised to liaise with their SCDEs to collect the printouts.”

This development comes exactly a week after the 2024 KCSE results were released on Thursday, January 9.

During the announcement, the Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba revealed that 962, 512 candidates had successfully sat for the examination.

For the first time since its inception, KCSE recorded a higher number of female candidates who sat for the exam as compared to the male candidates adding up to 482,202 and 480,310 respectively.

Of these 1693 scored a mean grade of A as compared to the 2023 KCSE where only 1216 obtained the top grade.

246,391 successfully clinched the University entry grade of C+ (plus), also an improvement from the previous year’s 201,133.

As the call for students to enroll in technical institutions intensified, 476,889 candidates scored the TVET and Diploma entry grade of C minus accounting for 49.41 per cent of all the candidates.

For the first time ever, the CS also announced there would mid-year exam for those who missed or failed the exam saying,”Starting this year and following extensive stakeholder consultation, I wish to announce that KNEC will introduce a mid-year series of the KCSE examination. It will target candidates wishing to repeat the examination.”

This could also benefit the 2829 candidates whose exams were withheld and the 840 who had their entire results canceled.
