A snarl-up was experienced along Valley Road in Nairobi after the Loreto Convent High School Msongari’s wall collapsed on the evening of Sunday, January 26.
A video seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed that a section of the wall had fallen spreading debris along the busy road causing a traffic hazard.
The clip showed that two vehicles had been hit by blocks from the walls but by the time of publishing, it was not clear whether casualties had been recorded.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the tragedy was caused by a heavy downpour experienced across numerous estates in the city.

The wall collapsed on a Toyota Prado parked next to it but the extent of its damage was yet to be established.
Authorities were spotted at the scene of the incident directing traffic shortly after the rains subsided.
In an earlier clip, a motorist driving along the flooded Valley Road recorded a video cautioning motorists against using the busy route.
On Saturday, the Kenya Meteorological Department cautioned Nairobi residents of impending heavy rainfall over the weekend.

In the advisory, Kenya Met cautioned Nairobi, Kisumu, Kiambu, Nyeri, and Nakuru to prepare for showers over the next five days covering Saturday, January 25, to Wednesday, January 29.
The forecast showed that the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka, will continue receiving showers in the afternoon and night.
These occurred barely two months after rains that pounded the city in November 2024 caused flooding leading to losses in infrastructure damage.
At the time, Nairobi Chief Officer of Environment Geoffrey Mosiria blamed poor construction of various buildings for the flooding in parts of the Parklands area.
Mosiria, as a result, called for demolitions in the areas where people have built along river beds and those who have blocked drainages in Nairobi to solve the flooding problem.
The Parklands area was majorly affected by the floods.
