Two people died on Monday morning after a Tata Tipper Lorry hit a motorbike killing both the bodaboda rider and his pillion passenger in Mlolongo.
According to witnesses, the bodaboda rider was ferrying a female passenger from Mlolongo town when the lorry reportedly hit the motorbike from the rear and killed the two instantly.
The lorry is said to have been headed towards nearby quarry sites to collect material when the tragic accident occurred.
Anderson Mbae, Athi River East Sub-County Police Commander, confirmed that the incident happened at around 6.00 am.

Protests shortly broke out with the irate residents blocking the old Mombasa road with tyres and stones causing a temporary traffic snarl-up.
Bodaboda riders who witnessed the accident lept into action and torched the lorry whose driver fled immediately after.
In pictures seen by kenyans.co.ke, the lorry’s cabin could be seen in flames.
No other material was destroyed by the fire as the lorry had been empty at the time of the arson.
Following a report to the nearby police station, officers arrived at the scene and dispersed the protestors, reclaiming the crime scene.
The two bodies have since been moved to the mortuary.
As for the torched lorry and the motorcycle wreckage, police have hauled them to the Mlolongo Police Station for processing.
Investigations into what exactly happened have been launched as the driver is still on the run.
