Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi on Tuesday, February 4, revealed that President William Ruto is likely to be impeached if he propagates divisive politics based on tribalism.
“If William Ruto brings tribal politics in the country we are going to impeach him and send him home,” Sudi stated.
While speaking at the funeral of Dwayne Mungai, a former employee at his entertainment joint, Sudi disclosed that the country’s operations can not be halted due to tribalistic politics stressing the need to maintain the country’s operations to spur development.
Seemingly taking a dig at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was impeached on grounds including propagating tribalistic politics, Sudi, a close ally of Ruto, emphasised the importance of unity among Kenyans.

“I want you to listen to me carefully. When you see me being hard on tribalism, I want you to understand me. What we did in Nairobi by impeaching Gachagua, many people currently do not understand, One day you will know it was a must he went. You can not bring a villager to incite all Kenyans,” Sudi noted.
“Did you know about Gachagua five years ago? You only came to know him when he became Deputy President. Will the country come to a standstill because Gachagua is out of office? If we decide to remove Ruto (from office) will the operations of the country stop?” he added.
Gachagua’s impeachment was confirmed on Thursday, October 17, after the Senate upheld a decision by the National Assembly to oust him from office.
The impeachment made Gachagua the first ever sitting DP to be removed from office since the advent of the new 2010 Constitution after a special motion was filed by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse.
Mutuse in his motion listed 11 grounds for the former DP’s ouster including insubordination to the president, inciting ethnic violence, corruption, undermining the government, and money laundering among others.
Gachagua rejected the charges against him, dismissing them as politically motivated. However, the Senate, which only needed to find him guilty of one charge to remove him, ruled that he was guilty of five out of the 11 charges he faced.
In his address, Sudi continued his onslaught against Gachagua, criticising his development record during his two years in office.
“From morning till evening, it’s all politics, you do not want to build anything. Gachagua was DP for two years and I have been an MP for 12 years. He should bring his development record as deputy. Compared to him, I have outdone him 500 times!” Sudi affirmed.
