Oscar Sudi Gives Morara Kebaso 3-Day Ultimatum Over Photo With Kasmuel McOure

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi on Sunday, December 29, wrote a demand letter to activist Morara Kebaso over alleged defamatory remarks.

In the demand letter shared by his lawyers, Limo and Njoroge Advocates, Sudi accused Kebaso of sharing a photo showing Sudi engaged in conversation with Kasmuel McOure to his 280,000 followers on X account with a caption he considered defamatory.

“We act for Hon Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, the sitting Member of Parliament for Kapseret Constituency, whose stellar reputation, earned through years of public service and business acumen, you have maliciously and recklessly defamed through your publication on the X platform (formerly Twitter) dated 22 December 2024 at 11.21 AM,” the law firm stated.

“In your post, you circulated multiple photographs including one depicting Hon. Sudi in conversation with Kasmuel McOure, accompanied by the following defamatory statement:

“Oh My God. Kasmuel why? Whhhhyyyy? Aren’t these the same people who killed GenZs in cold blood and benefited from it? Why? is it money? Si ungeanza any biz we support you? Kasmuel McOure you have hurt Kenyans who believed in you in a way that you will never ever imagine” the law firm added.

The lawyers further stated that the civic educator who has been at the forefront in regards to keeping the government in check, violated the law by defaming Sudi through direct reference and innuendo.

The law firm affirmed that by referring to “these same people” and juxtaposing Sudi’s image alongside the phrase “killed GenZs in cold blood and benefited from it”, Kebaso painted their client as a ‘murderer’, ‘profiteer’, ‘dishonest leader’ and ‘corrupt associate’ adding that Kebaso’s post “further implies a criminal conspiracy, falsely associating our client with unspecified heinous acts.”

Sudi, through his lawyers, also accused Kebaso of publishing the alleged defamatory remarks “recklessly and without verifying any facts” noting that Kebaso was doing this recognising the impact his post would have on Sudi’s reputation.

To that effect, the law firm issued three demands on behalf of their client to Kebaso, amongst them a written, unconditional, and unreserved apology. Other demands were an immediate admission of liability and an express undertaking to not publish any defamatory photograph or statements that can be inferred by innuendo referring to Sudi again.

The law firm gave Kebaso a window of three days to heed their demands failure to which would trigger the institution of relevant legal proceedings against Kebaso. In a telephone call with Fidel Limo, one of the partners at the law firm, Kenyans.co.ke was informed that the law firm would proceed to file a lawsuit against Kebaso after he intimated that he would not comply with the demands.

“We are going to file a lawsuit in the coming week from Monday, December 30, 2025, to Wednesday January 1, 2025, thereabout, after Kebaso indicated that he would not heed our demands,” stated Limo.

In what is seemingly a brewing battle between Sudi and Kebaso, the lawmaker on December 24 slammed the activist cum civic educator for what he termed as misleading the younger generation and purportedly fleecing Kenyans out of their hard-earned cash.

“Morara Kebaso, stop misleading our children the Gen-Zs for your own selfish gains. Creating havoc and panic in the country instead of constructive criticism. We know you’ve been fleecing  Kenyans and their hard-earned cash in the name of Activism. ,” Sudi wrote.

“We see through your charade—you are a mouthpiece for your paymaster and a willing pawn in his divisive agenda. Fake activist!”
