An Ohio State spokesperson confirmed in an email to CBS News that law enforcement officers deployed pepper spray during the fight.
“After the game, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in resolving the altercation on the field,” a school spokesperson said. “During this melee, multiple officers representing Ohio and Michigan used pepper spray.”
A school spokesperson said the Ohio State University Police Department was the lead agency monitoring the game and would investigate the fight. It is unclear whether there were any serious injuries.

Ohio State got the ball back but could not move it, with Will Howard throwing incompletion on fourth down to secure the Wolverines' fourth consecutive win over their arch rival.
This loss to Ohio State in “The Game” may have been the toughest of the last four as Michigan was unranked and had a disappointing season. The Wolverines were also playing without some top players: tight end Colston Loveland and cornerback Will Johnson.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, the Buckeyes were favored by 21 points, the widest point total for this rivalry since 1978.
