Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday revealed when he will announce his next political move as he denied reports that he has endorsed anyone for a political seat.
Gachagua, while attending a Church Service at PCEA Emmanuel Matanya, Waguthiru Parish, Laikipia East Constituency, Laikipia County, went on another tirade against President William Ruto as he called on the Mount Kenya region to stay united.
Without mentioning names, the impeached former DP denied endorsing anyone, as he revealed he would announce his next political move at the end of January.
“Let me say those people who come to see me at Wamunyoro. I hear on TV saying that Gachagua has endorsed so and so to become governor. Let it be known that I am only listening to opinions,” Gachagua said.

He added, “I’ve listened to your opinions and by the end of the month, I’ll send back a report to you.”
In the same service, the former DP also strongly hinted at forming an alliance with all of Ruto’s adversaries to mount a formidable challenge to the President in the next election.
“I want to tell you not to fear. We have many friends in Luhyaland, Kambaland, Maasai, and Kisiiland. Let us be united so that we can be strong,” Gachagua said.
He also faulted sections of Mount Kenya Members of Parliament and Senators, claiming they were ‘bought’ by President Ruto’s regime.
Gachagua’s claim that he had ‘friends’ from Kambaland was another strong pointer that he could potentially team up with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Weeks earlier, on December 18, the impeached former Deputy President was adamant that the Ukambani community had the numbers to swing the odds against President Ruto’s camp if only they turned out in large numbers to register as voters.
He also claimed he owed Kalonzo a favour, and was keen to repay his debt. “We owe Kalonzo and you people. We are in talks with Kalonzo and we will strategise well. We are talking as Kenyans and looking for a way to improve the economy and end the trend of lies in the country.”
As it stands, Gachagua cannot vie for a political seat since the constitution bars leaders who lost their seats through impeachment to vie for office.
However, there is an outward chance Gachagua could reclaim his eligibility as his legal team filed another petition with the Court of Appeal challenging a three-judge bench for their refusal to recuse itself from his impeachment proceedings due to demonstrated bias.
