But that phone will probably cost closer to $1,000, and it will be months before it has the same price as the OnePlus 12. brand new Galaxy S24 FE– meaning “Fan Edition” – is a bit of a tough sell on its MSRP since it's priced not far off the flagship Galaxy S24, but at this selling price it's a great phone. Seriously, a triple-camera system with 3X optical zoom for less than $500? That's rare. It's somewhat similar to the Galaxy S24+, but has lower specifications, although you won't notice that much of a difference. The screen is still a 120-Hz AMOLED panel, and the Exynos processor is significantly chipper.
If you're a heavy gamer, I guess oneplus 12r It's a better fit for anyone on a budget. It includes last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which can handle the most demanding games without much issue. The AMOLED screen is big at 6.78 inches (and sports) 120-Hz screen refresh rate), and the 5,500-mAh battery lasted me about two days. The camera is good, but the charging speed is more impressive – like the OnePlus 12, it goes from zero to 100 in about 30 minutes. Just know that its water resistance is weak (ip64), there's no wireless charging, and software support isn't as long as the Pixel 8A.
Moto G Power 5G (8/10, Wired recommends) is the best value in a smartphone at the moment. A $100 smartphone that won't make you tear your hair out? Yes, it exists. moto g play Only supports 4G LTE, which is still in abundance, so it shouldn't cause you connectivity issues. All things considered, the performance is surprisingly solid. Apps launch slowly and switching from one app to another may seem laborious, but it doesn't have to be frustrating. Just don't bother with the camera.

Flip the phone! Just like the good old days! Except that this is also a smartphone. I really wish there was a Pixel 9 Pro Fold (6/10, Wired recommends) had the same camera system as the standard Pixel 9 Pro (it's very similar, but the results aren't as sharp), but it's otherwise mine favorite foldable phone It is the size of a book. The front screen is almost identical to the Pixel 9 Pro's 6.3-inch display, which means it feels like a normal device, and it helps that the whole thing is so thin. Open it up and you'll find a massive 8-inch OLED panel perfect for streaming shows, multitasking, and gaming. I would never buy a phone that costs almost $2,000, but at this price? Maayebe.
I think Samsung may have made a mistake. You can currently get your hands on the company's latest, most expensive folding smartphone – the Galaxy Z Fold6.7/10, Wired recommends)—direct from Samsung.com for just over $1,000. What? Really, it's a huge drop over a phone that folds like a book, with a better and larger front screen and slimmer design. I like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold more, but the price is too attractive. Samsung has been making folding phones for longer than most brands, so it's easier to fix if something goes wrong.
I like Motorola's Razr+ but Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip6 (7/10, Wired recommends) makes it the best in some ways: longer software support, better build quality, better cameras, and faster performance. But I still think the Razer+ has more appeal and has a more useful and larger external cover screen. Still, it's a good price on a relatively new flagship foldable phone,
