Before and after photos show how the fire has affected the city. The Palisades fire, the largest in the area, burned more than a thousand structures in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood west of Malibu. The Eaton Fire, the second largest, is burning in northern Los Angeles near Pasadena.
Smaller fires have also raged across the vast county, including the Hearst Fire, Lydia Fire and Sunset Fire. Firefighters have brought the Sunset Fire under control, and both the Hurst and Lydia fires are partially contained as of Thursday afternoon.
