The family of the 31-year-old Kenyan woman who was killed in the United States has opened up on the circumstances that likely led to her murder.
Tracy Nyariki, 31, a resident of Newark, Delaware, went missing before Christmas and her body was found in a car belonging to the key suspect in the case on Friday, December 20.
New Castle County Police Department launched a search for Nyariki after her work informed authorities that she had not reported to work for several days.
The deceased’s family strongly believes the main suspect in the case, Nobert Matara, killed and dismembered her body out of jealousy.

Nyariki’s death came just weeks after she celebrated a traditional wedding with a new partner – something which the family believes triggered her ex-partner to commit the heinous act.
“They broke up long ago, and Tracy moved on with her life,” one of Tracy’s sisters said. “I think he saw that he lost chances with her completely.”
The family further disclosed how news of her passing caught them off-guard as Nyariki, who worked as a nurse in the US, was in high spirits before her death and was looking forward to Christmas festivities.
“My auntie told us they were looking for her. We were eventually told she had been found but we were never told to what extent,” one of Nyariki’s relatives said.
“On Saturday, one of our cousins told us she was missing. We were very worried, and on Sunday night we were informed that she was no more.”
Tragically, this was the third tragedy to fall on the family, in recent years, as the late Nyariki’s mother passed away in 2013 while her father has been confined to a wheelchair ever since he suffered a stroke in 2010.
The late Nyariki’s uncle further revealed she was fairly new in her job, and her family back in Kenya largely depended on her. “She has not been in that job for many years. Some of us were happy for her because she could help us with her dad’s medicine and other issues in the family.”
Meanwhile, the family is grappling with a fresh setback – the logistical challenges of transporting her body from the US back to Kenya for burial.
