President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Republican Representative Lori Chavez-Dermer as their nominee To head the Labor Department.
The Oregon House member, who narrowly lost her re-election bid earlier this month, received strong support from union members in her district.

Chavez-DeRemer, 56, is one of the few House Republicans to support the “Protect the Right to Organize” or PRO Act, which would allow more workers to organize campaigns and provide penalties for companies that violate workers' rights.
