Ruth Emanikor has officially assumed the role of County Attorney for Turkana County. She takes over from acting County Solicitor David Esuron.

The handover ceremony, presided over by Deputy County Secretary Joseph Nyang’a, took place on Tuesday, at the Office of the County Attorney.

During the event, senior management officials, including the Acting County Solicitor David Esuron, the Director of Legal Services Ekai Nabenyo, and the Director of Administration Epat Lojokomoe, provided brief reports on their respective directorates’ operations and priorities.

Deputy County Secretary Joseph Nyang’a emphasized the importance of collaboration and effective legal service delivery.

“Your extensive experience and expertise will greatly benefit the office of the county attorney, enabling the timely and effective delivery of services,” Nyang’a stated.           

In her acceptance speech, Emanikor expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to work diligently with her team to effectively execute the functions of the Office of the County Attorney.


She highlighted the importance of conducting internal awareness sessions on the OCA Act, 2020 and emphasized the need for adherence to the Code of Conduct.
           

, formerly the County Solicitor, is expected to strengthen legal frameworks and improve service quality within the county.

She committed to supporting Governor Jeremiah Ekamais Napotikan’s nine-point agenda to benefit the people of Turkana.           

David Esuron, the Acting County Solicitor, expressed his support for Emanikor and pledged to work collaboratively.


The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Ekai Nabenyo, Director for Legal Services, and Epat Lojokomoe, Director for Administration.
