Uhuru Tells Gen Z to Continue Fighting for Their Rights

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has finally announced their preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.

The party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni announced that Jubilee’s flagbearer is former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

Speaking at a leadership meeting in Narok on Saturday, he also expressed optimism that Matiang’i would easily beat President William Ruto in the elections.

“We as the Jubilee Party have our own candidate, Fred Matiang’i. He will face off with the others to ensure Ruto goes home,” Kioni stated.

“If we all agree to come together and vote, Ruto will not win even if he appoints Kimani Ichung’wah or Kamket as IEBC Chairperson. We must agree that all his supporters are the wrong people for this country.”

This endorsement comes amid rising speculations that President Kenyatta was fielding his former CS to face off with President Ruto in 2027.

In his address, Kioni also urged Kenyans to embrace minority communities, asking the Mount Kenya Region officials to step aside and let another community in power.

“We want a President from a small community. let us step aside and let someone else in. Let us unite and vote as one,” he stated.

Meanwhile, in Kisii County, Senator Richard Onyonka also announced his endorsement for Matiang’i stating that the time was nigh for the county to produce a top candidate.

He said this would curb the need for blatant disregard for the community when issuing top government positions.

“We know that Matiang’i is going to win but he cannot do it alone. We are going to talk to everybody. We will talk to Kalonzo, we will talk to Gachagua. We will talk to Uhuru. We will even talk to Raila,” he stated.

“It is now our time because where we are, this country requires people from the small clans. Even us who are without the numbers need to be allowed to show what we can do.”
