Youths urged to enroll for technical courses – Kenya News Agency






Nandi East Sub County Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Ngalia Ndaya has called on the youths to enroll for technical courses.

Ndaya said this will equip the youngsters with the necessary skills that will enable them compete in the global job market.

The administrator, who was speaking during the Jamhuri Day celebrations held at Nandi Hills stadium noted that technical education focuses on providing students with practical skills and knowledge directly applicable in the job market.

 Ndaya revealed that skilled individuals help in tackling the issue of unemployment, which is a great challenge among the youth.

“For those who want to work abroad, if you want to be paid well acquire technical skills before going abroad. Those with technical skills easily thrive in the abroad job market compared to professionals,” said the DCC, adding that technical courses are offered to students of all levels including class eight drop outs.

“The government has already set aside funds to support students pursuing technical courses. Student who completed secondary and primary education from the year 2000 to 2023 are advised to visit the offices of their area chiefs to register for technical courses for 2025 January intake in the ongoing registration drive in Nandi East Sub County,” he divulged.

Ndaya further advised youths to utilize the online platforms to earn a living saying that there are numerous online jobs that youths ought to take advantage as a measure to address the increasing unemployment in the modern world.
